聖誕節剛過,不知道同學有沒有在任何場合看過一種叫做”egg nog”蛋酒的傳統聖誕節飲品呢?
Eggnog, egg nog or egg-nog, historically also known as milk punch or egg milk punch, is a rich, chilled, sweetened, dairy-based beverage. It is traditionally made with milk, cream, sugar, whipped egg whites, and egg yolks.
Eggnog通常會有幾種固定成分如:牛奶,糖,鮮奶油以及雞蛋等材料,
後來大家會加入各種不同酒精做成不同風味的調酒。
While culinary historians debate its exact lineage, most agree eggnog originated from the early medieval Britain “posset,” a hot, milky, ale-like drink. By the 13th century, monks were known to drink a posset with eggs and figs. Milk, eggs, and sherry were foods of the wealthy, so eggnog was often used in toasts to prosperity and good health.
沒有人能確認蛋酒真正的來源,但根據大眾說法是來自於英國,因為早在十三世紀時,英國的修道士就會喝加了蛋與無花果製成的奶酒。後來就演變出各種版本,以不同的奶與酒類搭配,做為社交場合的飲品。
